"For Sale By Owner" Agreement

    To assist you in selling your used piano from your home, we offer to conduct a complete evaluation, to advertise your piano on our website (and elsewhere as stipulated in our Agreement) at an agreed-upon price, and to direct potential buyers to view your piano. Our "For Sale By Owner" Agreement includes payment of a deposit to pay for our evaluation and advertising and, in addition, a 10% finder's fee on the sale price if you sell your piano to a buyer we direct to you. If you sell your piano to a buyer we direct to your home and also contract with you or with the buyer to complete improvements (in addition to tuning) on the piano prior to delivery, our finder's fee will be 5% of the sale price. Note that any improvements completed by Ray's Piano Service are guaranteed for one year. In the event that the buyer asks us to deliver the piano, we also offer, at no additional cost, to assist with payment arrangements, either by recommending an escrow service or by receiving the buyer's cashier's check (payable  to the seller) and bringing it to you when we pick up your piano. Under our "For Sale By Owner" Agreement, the costs of pick-up, delivery and any after-delivery service are the responsibility of the buyer.

 

"Consignment Sale" Agreement

    If you'd like us to move your used piano to our showroom on a 12-month renewable "Consignment Sale Agreement", we offer to conduct a complete evaluation, to move your piano to our showroom, and to advertise your piano at an agreed-upon price. If our evaluation shows that your piano is relatively new and not in need of repairs or maintenance work, our "Consignment Sale" Agreement will include payment of a deposit to pay for our evaluation, advertising, moving your piano to our showroom and, in addition, a 20% commission on the sale price. If our evaluation shows that your piano needs repairs or maintenance work (in addition to tuning), and if we contract with you or with the buyer to complete these improvements on the piano prior to delivery, our commission will be 15% of the sale price. Note that any improvements completed by Ray's Piano Service are guaranteed for one year. In the event that the buyer asks us to deliver the piano, we also offer, at no additional cost, to assist with payment arrangements, either by recommending an escrow service or by receiving the buyer's cashier's check (payable  to the seller) and bringing it to you before delivering your piano.
