Pictures of the improvement process
taken in our shop:

– We removed the pins and strings. We sent the bass strings to the string-maker for duplication.

– After removing the plate, we repaired and refinished the sound board and bridges.

– We cleaned the plate before refinishing.

- Using a "stringing scale" produced before removal of the strings as guide, we installed new strings.

– After stringing, we installed stringing braid in the bass and tenor sections.

– We stripped the cabinet and repaired some veneer damage.

– We stained the cabinet.

– We applied lacquer to the cabinet and to all other parts.

– We dismantled and cleaned the action, installed new hammers and knuckles, and conducted a complete regulation.

– With new knuckles, playing efficiency is improved.

– We regulated hammer leveling and height, ensuring proper hammer blow distance.

– We cleaned and polished all brass parts.

– We tuned the piano several times during the first weeks, until tuning stability was achieved.

– Piano legs and bench legs are similarly shaped.

– We installed a new sidewall decal.

– We also installed a new fallboard decal.

– This piano has beautiful ivory keys.

– We were proud of this restoration project and happy to display it in our showroom for a few weeks until it was sold to client in California.
