52" Cable Nelson Upright #113797

Burl Walnut Cabinet. Built in 1919 by the Cable Nelson Piano Company, Chicago. Reconditioned and Refinished by Ray’s Piano Service. Sold to buyer in Bellingham, WA for $2,400.

IMPROVEMENTS COMPLETED:

Recondition action—Clean, install new hammers and bridle tapes, tighten screws, replace defective parts. Install new pedals.

Complete Regulation—All adjustments to ensure that piano plays like new. Install new underkey punchings. Tune to A-440.

Refinish Cabinet—Clean. Tighten cabinet screws. Repair cabinet as needed. Install new rubber buttons.

Install New Keytops--Remove set of ivories, install new plastic keytops, regulate as needed.

Bench--We have refinished a new walnut bench to match this piano. Beautiful bench cover provided.

Pictures of the Improvement Process
taken in our shop:

 

1 – "Before" - interior. Pins are tight enough to hold pitch. We will clean the strings and pins with a steel brush.

2 – "Before" - Panels and keybed. These parts will be stripped, sanded, and refinished.

 

3 – After stripping and sanding, we applied stain to all panels.

4 – We stripped and sanded the cabinet, then applied stain.

 

5 – We reconditioned the action--installed new hammers, tightened all screws, lubricated springs.

6 – We rebuilt the pedal board using new pedals, and re-installed the pedals, keybed, and legs.

 

7 – After installing new key cloth and underkey punchings, we placed the keys in the piano.

8 – After regulation was completed, we tuned the piano to A-440.

 

9 – Finished! This picture shows the matching bench and complementary bench cover.
