53" Wentworth Upright Player #85757

Brown Mahogany, Built in 1920. Restored by Ray's Piano Service.

A large upright with deep, rich tone. Piano action reconditioned. Player works very well--suction provided by electric player pump. Comes with new mahogany bench.

IMPROVEMENTS COMPLETED:

Recondition—Complete cleaning, reshape hammers, tighten action screws, replace defective parts. Rebuild pedal mechanisms. Recondition player action, install new player hoses. Remove lower player components. NOTE: The player works very well considering its age. Since we removed the lower player mechanism, it is powered only by an electric vacuum pump and no longer has the foot pedals or the bellows. Our 1-year guarantee does not extend to the player.

Regulate—all adjustments to ensure that piano plays like new, tune to A-440. Regulate player action.

Partially refinished--Cabinet parts cleaned with special "restorer" chemical to fill scratches and blemishes with color.

Bench--New mahogany bench with vinyl cover.
SCHEDULE:

Pictures of the Improvement Process

taken in our shop:

1 – "Before" - Action. The action is in great shape, so we will tighten all screws, reshape the hammers, install new bridle tapes, cl,ean and lubricate the springs.

2 – We removed the upper player, cleaned the keybed, and installed new underkey punchings. We cleaned the strings and tuning pins.

3 – We removed the bellows of the player mechanism, and installed an electric pump as the source of suction for the player.

4 – After reconditioning the the action, we regulated hammer blow distance, capstans, key height and levelling, letoff, keydip, spoons. Then we raised pitch and tuned the piano.

5We replaced defective parts in the upper player and tightened all screws. We installed the upper player and made necessary adjustments. The player works great! We used "refresher" chemical to reduce scratches and blemishes, with good results.

6 – We are providing a new mahogany bench to the buyer of this piano, instead of the used bench that came with the piano when we purchased it.
